Grants

St Mary’s Church is the primary beneficiary of the Gooch Charitable Trust and over the years has received well over £100,000.  However, the Trust is also delighted to support charities or charitable purposes which benefit the people of the town of Ilminster.  

 

The type of projects supported by the Trust have been many and varied, ranging from local sports clubs to old peoples’ homes.

In addition to supporting those charities and groups who apply for grants, The Gooch Trust also awards an annual Christmas Gift to a well deserving charity or individual of their choice.  This Gift is awarded at our December meeting each year and last years award went to Baby Basics South Somerset for all the wonderful work they do in supporting newborn babies and their mums.
